CHARLESTOWN REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM

Charlestown Netball Association has a long and proud Representative Program history. Over the years we have had many teams compete in NNSW competitions such as Regional League, Junior State Titles (previously State Age Championships) and Senior State Titles (previously State Championships). 

We aim to

  1. Support and nurture Charlestown Netball Association representative players within a positive and rewarding environment, allowing them to play their best and to represent Charlestown Netball Association with pride, enthusiasm, and integrity.
  2. Provide a professional and organised framework of management and support for both representative players and representative personnel.
  3. Encourage and support the continued development of skills and experience of Charlestown representative coaches, umpires, and managers.
  4. Support our representative teams to perform at their best when competing at Junior State Titles (JST), Senior State Titles (SST), and other representative competitions.
  5. Nurture confidence, integrity, pride, resilience and passion in our players, coaches and managers, to allow them to excel and flourish both on and off the court.  

2027 REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM

CALL FOR COACHES, MANAGERS AND REP COORDINATORS

Applications arenow open to join the Charlestown Netball Association Representative group for the 2027 season.

Positions available:

  • Team Coaches;
  • Assistant Team Coaches;
  • Team Managers;
  • Representative Coordinators.

2027 Teams

  • For Senior State Titles - Opens Women, 17s, 15s
  • For Junior State Titles - 14s, 13s, 12s
  • 11s Development Squad

COACHES, ASSISTANT COACHES & TEAM MANAGERS - We are looking for enthusiastic coaches and team managers to inspire, train, and support our representative players throughout 2027, taking their team through to play in the State Titles in mid-2027.

REP COORDINATORS - The Representative Coordinator is the main point of contact for rep activities during the 2027 rep season and is the primary liaison person between the CNA Executive and the 2027 CNA Rep group. The ability to work collaboratively with the CNA Executive, the Rep coaches, Rep managers, and umpires is essential. Establishing a good rapport with players and parents is also a critical requirement for this position.

Nominations close 6pm on Sunday 30th August 2026.

Additional information which all applicants should be aware of:

REPRESENTATIVE SQUAD SELECTIONS & TRAINING - 

  • Selections for Rep Squads for Girls 12s, 13s, 14s are scheduled for Saturday 19th September (younger age groups at earlier times). In case of rain, the back-up selection date would be Saturday 17th October.
  • Squad training will run for 4 weeks on Tuesday nights (likely to be 13th Oct, 20th Oct, 27th Oct, 3rd Nov but to be confirmed closer to the time).
  • No squads for 15s, 17s or Opens.
  • Come and Try sessions for interested 11s players are typically run at the same time as the junior rep squads.

REPRESENTATIVE TEAM SELECTIONS IN 2027

  • Selections for the 2027 Representative Teams will be scheduled for early February 2027. Dates and times will be confirmed closer to the end of 2026. 
  • Coaches are expected to attend their respective team selection.
  • The 11s Development Squad will also be selected around the same time.

OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION

  • The Hunter Representative Carnival is in early March 2027. Charlestown will be hosting this carnival and all Charlestown representative teams will be participating.
  • The Opens and 17s teams will be entered into the NNSW Hunter Regional League Competition in 2027. This is usually scheduled in mid-late March over a weekend (both Saturday and Sunday).

COACHING QUALIFICATIONS

  • Evidence of relevant coaching qualification is required for all nominations for Coach positions, including assistant coach positions. 
  • All coaching applicants are required to send evidence of current coaching qualifications/accreditations through to the CNA Secretary (cna.secretary1@gmail.combefore submitting your application through this form.
  • Coaches attending State Titles are required to hold a Intermediate coaching accreditation at a minimum. Coaches who do not currently have this level of accreditation will be required to achieve this prior to State Titles.
