A very big thanks to each and every one of our members, your participation in the Mufti Day made me very proud to belong to an Association where everyone comes on board and supports not only the Association's venture, but also the wonderful organisation of Camp Quality. Our visitors Mark Hughes and Alison Broadbent from Sportsplay along with Patrick Murphy who brought along photos of himself in a Charlestown Netball shirt walking the Kokoda Trail(!) were equally impressed with the day. Together we raised $2,250 what a magnificent effort. Please pass on my thanks to all your members.

Thanks also goes to the dedicated members who worked tirelessly yesterday at our Cure our Kids carnival, it was also a huge success. Without your support we could not do these wonderful things, thank you.
Mufti Day - Saturday 26 July 2008 with all proceeds going to Camp Quality. Congratulations to everyone for the wonderful effort today. Your tremendous support for Camp Quality resulted in a donation of over $2,200. Well done everyone.
Also visiting us on Saturday 26 July is iPRIME - iPRIME Sportsplay is about our shared sports experiences, what we do together….

1) Create and share stories – through blogs and group discussion, and by sharing photos and video
2) Share team information – organise who’s bringing the oranges, confirm training schedules, advise of a change in venue, or simply rev up the team for the next game...
On Saturday 26 July 2008, iPRIME Sportsplay will be at the Charlestown Courts with their two Ambassadors, Alison Broadbent and Mark Hughes. A Commonwealth Games gold and silver medallist, Alison is a former Sydney Swifts player and held a place on the Australian Open Netball team for 5 years. Junior netballers on the hunt for state title glory
An article from the Newcastle Herald BY NEIL GOFFET
THOUSANDS of junior players will invade the Hunter this weekend when Maitland, Newcastle and Charlestown host the 2008 Netball NSW State Age Championships.
More than 3600 players, comprising 305 teams from 86 netball associations in NSW, will create what is recognised as one of the largest single sporting events in the southern hemisphere.
Held every year on the first weekend of the winter school holidays, the state age championships have four age groups 12, 13, 14 and 15 years and there are three divisions in each group.
The most popular age group is division three of the 13 years, where 30 teams will fight for the state title.
The growing number of players has forced officials to spread the tournament over three associations this year.
Maitland will host the championship divisions, Newcastle will be home to the division two teams and the division three state championships will be decided at Charlestown courts.
Natalie Horn will lead the Charlestown 15-years team into battle against Maitland and Newcastle in the top division.

The members bade farewell to and thanked long time Coaching Convenor, Glenda Geyer who has taken on a role outside the Executive.
Charlestown Netball and GPT
Charlestown Netball Association and GPT, the company who owns Charlestown Square have made an arrangement to utilise the car park at the Charlestown Netball facility, over the period of the redevelopment of Charlestown Square.
The partnership between GPT and us proposes that, when the car park is not in use by netball, it would be utilised as Charlestown Square's off-site retail staff car park, from Monday to Friday.
The proposal enables dual use of the site, with an area within the car park to remain available for netball training access. On the days where we have competitions scheduled, the car park would not be utilised as a car park by GPT.
As part of the proposal, GPT will employ security personnel to be on-site, to manage the arrival and departure of retailers and protect the car park from theft and vandalism.
